Four Mile Run Watershed Management Program

Project Type

Storm Water Management

Client

Northern Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC)

Streams Tech has assisted the Northern Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC) and four local governments in addressing storm water management challenges. Streams Tech has modified the Four Mile Run model in order to evaluate the impact of site development and determine the most appropriate flow control measures. The model also includes best management practices that reduce peak discharge and improve water quality.

Bacteria TMDL Development for Mattaponi River Watershed

Project Type

Water Quality Assessment

Client

Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (Virginia DEQ)

Streams Tech developed a 1,660 square km watershed model and bacteria total maximum daily loads (TMDLs) for 14 impaired streams in the Mattaponi River watershed, which has a drainage area of 550 square miles. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Virginia state water quality control board approved the TMDLs.

Guidance Manual for Developing Bacteria TMDLs in Virginia, USA

Project Type

Water Quality Program

Client

Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (Virginia DEQ)

Streams Tech developed the Guidance Manual for Developing Bacteria total maximum daily loads (TMDLs) in Virginia to assist Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (Virginia DEQ) staff and contractors in achieving scientific, regulatory, and policy requirements. The manual provided the essential information for review and approval by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the United States.

Study on Prospective Hydroelectricity Generation in Southeast Bangladesh

Project Type

Feasibility Study

Client

Ministry of power energy and mineral resources, Bangladesh, and The World Bank Group

Streams Tech conducted a hydropower feasibility study in Chattagram, Bangladesh in a project funded by the World Bank to assess the potential for hydropower generation. The detailed study report provided the Ministry of Power Energy and Mineral Resources with the information and knowledge required for future planning. In 2020, the project also won the Esri South Asian GIS Impact award.
