UNICEF

UNICEF launched Accelerated Sanitation and Water for All (ASWA) II Program in Bangladesh as part of a 10-country program to promote safe water supplies, sanitation services, and sustained adoption of hygiene practices. Streams Tech supported UNICEF by developing a mobile app-based data collection software and an online platform for monitoring, analysis, and reporting. The mobile data collection app transfers data to a secure cloud-based storage and the online monitoring platform allows access to data, displays real-time progress, compares data, and exports reports in various formats, e.g., jpeg, pdf, CSV, etc. The system maintains an audit trail, enabling the admin to track all changes and facilitate content control and workflow management.

Streams Tech developed the STREAM Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system for renowned organizations, such as CARE, Helen Keller International (HKI), and World Vision International, with funding from USAID. The system significantly enhanced monitoring and evaluation capabilities in healthcare, agriculture, and livelihood sectors. It enabled real-time data collection through an web-based interface and mobile app, addressing weak network connectivity with an offline data collection feature. The solution offered customization options and diverse database management, improving M&E efficiency. For HKI, Streams Tech enhanced the existing STREAM system into iStream, providing centralized monitoring of projects, dynamic monitoring, enhanced survey and reporting modules, event planning and management, GIS data analysis, and online/offline data collection. iStream’s flexibility empowered project administrators to customize activities, inputs, and outcomes, while the inclusion of custom survey and GIS modules enabled informed decision-making using geospatial data for HKI staff.

Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation partnered with Streams Tech for successful implementation of the Sharique project, which focused on empowerment of citizens and enhancement of local government systems. Our team developed a portal, including online database and GIS capabilities to effectively manage project data across various phases. The system enabled data segregation by district and comprehensive reporting, analysis, and decision-making support. It facilitated project planning, implementation, and progress tracking, ensuring timely data delivery. The project positively impacted the lives of 4.8 million citizens in the southern and northern districts of Bangladesh by delivering a capacity-building package and promoting inclusion. Streams Tech used its knowledge and expertise in delivering the most suitable solutions and completing the project on time and in budget. Streams Tech developed a dynamic web-based monitoring system and integrated mobile application for the Shamerto project of HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation. The objectives of the Shamerto project were to augment the skills, employability, and income of workers in agro-food processing industry through training. The software facilitated individual enrollments, tracked skill development trainings; assessed performance of workers in small, medium and cottage enterprises; and maintained income and employment history of individual workers to evaluate the impact of the project. The system consisted of a web-application for monitoring and reporting, a comprehensive database management system for storing and managing data, an admin module for user access control, and a mobile app to support offline data collection. The software development project was successfully completed in a short period through effective client engagement and project management. The system allowed the client to track the progress of individual beneficiaries and make informed decisions that were critical.

The Joint Action for Nutrition Outcomes (JANO) project of CARE was funded by the European Union (EU) with an aim to develop and implement improved nutrition programs. The JANO project helped end malnutrition of children under five, address the nutritional needs of pregnant and lactating women and adolescent girls. Streams Tech developed a software platform to help project staff perform routine monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tasks, and census surveys. The M&E system integrated management information systems (MIS) and geographic information systems (GIS) to allow efficient tracking, reporting, and progress monitoring. It supported the effective implementation of the national plan of action for nutrition. Special attention was given to the design of the mobile app’s user interface (UI) so that the field-level workers, who were not familiar with handling such devices, would easily adopt it. The system provided a centralized database and streamlined the process of calculating ‘achievement to target’ ratios.

Sustainable Enterprise Project Web Portal

Streams Tech developed an independent web portal for the Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP) in collaboration with PKSF (A government institution for poverty alleviation), the Government of Bangladesh, and the World Bank. PKSF wanted to create a new web portal and link it with the existing PKSF portal to ensure a smooth operation. The new portal serves as a content management platform, providing stakeholders with access to project information, sub-project concept notes, and training tools. It features an e-Knowledge window linked to social media channels, and an e-Display window showcasing micro-entrepreneurs’ products. It also features an Apps Corner for uploading and accessing apps, and a GIS Corner for displaying geo-locations. The system allows PKSF administrators to monitor and approve activities, manage partners, and create categories. The SEP portal enhances communication, knowledge sharing, and visibility of micro-entrepreneurs, supporting the project’s goal of promoting sustainable enterprises in Bangladesh.
